RIVER 94.9 GENERAL CONTEST RULES

1. All prizes must be collected within 1 month from the date of winning. Prizes not collected within that period will be forfeited.
   
   
2. Prizes must be claimed in person unless winner is otherwise advised. ID, which includes a photograph, will be required. (examples include driver's license/passport/student card where photo included). The collection of prizes is the sole responsibility of the winner.
   
   
3. Prizewinners automatically accept all terms and conditions of river 94.9 when receiving and accepting any prize.
   
   
4. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
   
   
5. All prizes are used/taken entirely at the risk of the winner in all things, and station excludes all warranties in connection with any prize to the extent permitted by law.
   
   
6. In relation to an entrant's participation in this competition:
   • river 94.9 and its employees and agents will be fully released from and indemnified by each entrant and winner in respect of any claim for accident, injury, property damage or loss of life in connection with the entrant or winner's participation in the contest or the prize except to the extent that any such accident, injury, property damage or loss of life is caused by the negligence of river 94.9 or any of its employees or agents.
     
     
   • A winner or entrant may be required by river 94.9 to sign a form containing an indemnity in the terms set out in 6(a) above either before entering the competition or claiming a prize. If a winner or entrant is under the age OF 18 a parent or guardian may be required to sign such a form.
   
   
7. If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, river 94.9 may substitute a prize of like or equal value.
   
   
8. Unless otherwise specified the class of travel for any travel prize incorporating an airfare, is economy class.
   
   
9. A winner must make him or herself available for a photo session if required and acknowledges that river 94.9 has the right to use the publicity photos in any reasonable manner it sees fit
   
   
10. Contest entries and material submitted in connection with any contest including all copyright (present and future), which subsists in that material (whether in written, audio or visual form, or a combination of those) becomes the property of river 94.9 who may use the material.
    
    
11. river 94.9 may publicise, broadcast or otherwise disclose a winner's name or any recording of the winner's voice in advertising or promotion concerning winning of the contest, or river 94.9 contests generally.
    
    
12. Any tax payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the winner's responsibility.
    
    
13. If there is a dispute arising out of the use of telephone lines in a contest, the decision of river 94.9 is final. river 94.9 takes no responsibility for any lost, mutilated or misdirected entities.
    
    
14. A person is ineligible to enter and/or win a contest if:
    • they are an employee or a member of the immediate family of an employee of river 94.9/any related station/The Australian Radio Network/or a sponsor of or associated with the contest.
      
      
    • they have won a prize/prizes from river 94.9 or in any river 94.9 contest in the prior two months.
      
      
    • they are discovered to have used or attempted to use any more than one name in order to qualify to win any river 94.9 or river 94.9 contest except in the case of a legal change of name.
    
    
15. river 94.9 may rely on rule 14 even if it previously has announced that a prize is to be given to a particular person. If rule 14 applies in circumstances in which a prize already has been awarded to a person that person must return the prize or make a payment equal to its value to river 94.9 if river 94.9 so requires.
    
    
16. river 94.9 may incorporate information from entrants in any contest(s) in any data base for use for the purpose of its business.
    
    
17. Where river 94.9 has special contest conditions or rules in relation to a particular contest, then they will prevail to the extent of any inconsistency between those special conditions and these general conditions
    
    
18. river 94.9 may waive compliance with any of the rules set out above in any particular case if it so desires.
